Cherry Red Cocktail Dress
I like to do a thematic post on the first day of the month, so of course it only makes sense that February-- a month marked with red, pink and all things Valentine-- should start off with a little cherry red dress to celebrate! And check out this shop page for more cute red dresses!

I wrote a post several months ago about whether or not one can wear red to a wedding, and while some tight form-fitting red dresses are inadvisable, this silk fit and flare from kate spade new york, is a wedding guest - do. It's bright, cheerful, and has classic lines. The pinkish maraschino red is especially a great color to brighten up the last few months of winter.
I kept the accessories simple, but large in scale to balance the oversized bell of the skirt. I loved the way those statement pearls already shown on the model looked, so I kept those and added some large pearl stud earrings. For accessories, I thought those floral print shoes would be a nice little bit of color, and since the straps are so small, the floral print won't overwhelm the look. I added that little pink and red clutch for another little bit of color and a subtle print mix.
If you're not attending any weddings this month, I recommend this dress for a Valentine's Day date!
