Bridal Belts and Sashes
I've long held the opinion that bridal sashes have transformative qualities when it comes to giving a little extra oomph to an already beautiful wedding dress. I became acquainted with sashes during my own wedding dress trying-on experience, and saw how a jeweled bridal belt completely changed the look of my simple gown, and gave it a detail that made the dress unique and more customized.
Unfortunately, the sash had price tag that was nearly more than the dress I was considering, and it was much harder to find sashes back 7 years ago. In the end, chose a dress that already had a built-in sash at the waist, but one of my lingering fashion regrets is not spring for it, and wearing that beautiful jeweled sash with my wedding dress.
So if you're considering a sash, I say go for it! If budget is a concern, I recommend renting one (see picks below from Happily Ever Borrowed or Rent the Runway) or finding a moderately priced sash on Etsy - there are many to choose from! Another idea to keep in mind: bridal sashes aren't just for wedding dresses -- they dress up bridesmaid dresses, mother of the bride dresses, rehearsal dinner dresses, or even jumpsuits. Some of the more slender and delicate styles do double duty as a headband. So with that, I leave you with a closer look these pretty picks and more sources for finding your own bridal belt or sash.
