Whew! Does anyone remember how a few posts ago I mentioned how some days my collages come together so quickly and other days they take a little bit more work? Well, today was definitely a little "bit more work" day, and not even for this collage -- this one came together quickly and naturally which is why I'm showing it. The post I had slated for today was going to be bright and tropical, and I took one look at it this morning, didn't like a few things, started to redo it, and now 4 hours later, I have about 3 looks for that one, but I'm not happy with a single one! Ha! Maybe it will come together later this week!?

Gray Silk Dresss to Wear to a Wedding

In any event, I guess I must be in a muted and cozy mood because this soft gray silk dress and gold accessories really appealed to me. I was sitting here drinking tea to warm up my brain, and the neutral tame color of that may very have been some kind of subliminal inspiration. This Mirabelle silk chiffon dress is a favorite because it has such a pretty silhouette and flattering short sleeves. The color is called graphite, and I although haven't seen it in person, but it looks like a muted gray or taupe. This dress is part of the weddings and parties collection at J.Crew , which means it works for wedding guest styles and bridesmaids, and could really become a closet staple!

I just started to see what would work (it's a neutral, so nearly anything does!) and really loved the taupe color with those mauve-y crystal stud earrings - they have an iridescent color that brings in muted pinks gold and blues, and I think the golden and crystal accessories both glam up and warm the cooler colors up this look. Maybe this could be a bridesmaid dress worn in a intimate city winter wedding at a cozy restaurant? Or a fall wedding guest style? It's so timeless, it can go about anywhere, I hope you have fun wearing it!
