Green Lace Dress for a Spring or Summer Wedding
I think when I started this site, I read somewhere that lace was on the "do-not-wear-to-a-wedding" list. One can see why that rule was started (if it ever was), since most lace used to be primarily white, and therefore, bridal. Now with the advent of stretch colored lace, I'm seeing that all major fashion outlets and I agree: It's fine to wear the new, colored laces we see to a wedding and in the daytime. If I can take it a step further, I think the lace is appropriate because gussies things up a little and shows that you're trying to look celebratory.Take this green lace shift dress; lace used to be synonymous with cocktail shaped dresses, and while this would still qualify, I also like that the sleeves and shape give it a look that would be highly appropriate at a daytime wedding, too.
I love this emerald green color with the nude lining that really shows the lace patterning. This dress would be stunning with an emerald tone necklace, or even purple or pink. I liked the idea of putting turquoise with it too, so I liked that the mint/turquoise and yellow necklace was a little off on the match, and shows a little interest. I put a gold and mint colored bracelet for more subtle contrast, then finished with other neutral accessories like the tan pumps and clutch so that it doesn't get too crazy. This dress can go to a morning wedding, but it fine for evening, too, I'd just switch out some of the pieces and put more dramatic and dark accessories if it's an evening semi-formal wedding. I think this also makes a great shower, engagement, or rehearsal dinner dress, too! How is that for versatility?
