Metallic Dress for a City Wedding
Long Metallic Dress
I put together this look featuring a long metallic dress with a city wedding guest in mind. There's something to be said for saying your vows tucked up in an urban loft or some elegantly appointed boutique hotel. It feels so modern and intimate to gathering your friends and family in a serene urban spot while the rest of the city bustles around you.

I chose this pretty metallic number because it has the perfect air of sophistication, but with a little "edge" thrown in. The glistening metallic and loose, flowy style could also go to an evening beach wedding (with wedges and a long necklace, perhaps? ) There's something about the metallic pewter color that reminds me of both glistening skyscrapers in the city and shiny shells -- so I'm giving this one a dual purpose of a formal beach wedding, too!
Since this dress is long and elegant it can work for some types of other formal weddings - like one held at a hip restaurant, or just a wedding where you know the couple will have a laid-ease to their formality. (That's a huge oxymoron, I know, but you understand --right?) The spaghetti straps and blouson style make this dress slightly less formal, so if you have a white tie or very formal black tie wedding to attend you may want to choose a dress with more traditional styling and structure.
I'd also love to see this used as a bridesmaid dress for an urban wedding. I think it's a great alternative to black, and a nice way to give the bridesmaid dress some texture, sparkle, and a modern look for their dresses.
By the way, I had such fun finding city-inspired necklaces for this look, I added some bonus necklaces as options in the Shop The Look Section below. Pick the one that suits your style the most!
