Placid Blue Wedding Style
Alfred Sung Style D543 in Atlantic at Weddington Way / White Opal Teardrop Earrings Liz Palacios / Iridescent Bracelet at Charlotte Russe / Lerre High Heeled Sandals / Rafe New York Demi Clutch
In 2013, I didn't do too many posts featuring the colors of the year as designated by Pantone, the authority on color. So this year I have vowed to showcase many more of their pretty color picks, and to show more full-length bridesmaid dresses which were a big hit in 2013. I think it will be a very colorful and elegant 2014 with these two posting goals in place! I'm starting things off with a color that Pantone has picked for Spring 2014 that is really catching my eye - Placid Blue. It is a slightly deeper blue gray than one of my favorites from last year, Dusty Shale, and it's just as elegant and slightly mystical. I find this color by Alfred Sung called "Atlantis" to be very close; it's truly a peaceful color, perfect for a tranquil and timeless wedding party.
I thought the ever-changing colors in iridescent accessories was the perfect complement to this sort of mutable color, but as you can see it goes well with gold, silver and deeper grays, greens, and blues, too. Even a pop of blush, or a deep bronze would look very nice against this soothing backdrop. Can't you picture this for a formal early spring wedding? Stay with me for more bridesmaid color ideas courtesy of Pantone's picks. If you're a fan of THE color of the year, Radiant Orchid, well I already have a post for you!

Such a great color and I have actually tried on that Alfred Sung bridesmaid dress. It's extremely flattering on most body shapes and great for dancing!
