Short Floral Dress for a Spring Daytime Wedding
Spring wedding season is starting soon, and as usual, we'll be covering what to wear to all sorts of weddings and wedding-related events! Today, we've picked this pretty yellow floral dress from Eliza J as the perfect example of what to wear to a daytime spring wedding. In general, daytime weddings are less formal and might be outdoors now that warm weather is starting in some locations. This kind of dress could also work perfectly for a bridal shower, wedding brunch, or other pre-wedding party.
Attire for a Casual Spring Wedding
If you're heading to a morning or early afternoon wedding in April, May, or June, a pretty day-to-night dress with pastel colors or florals is a great idea.
The key is picking a dress, top, or skirt that is in a daytime fabric (i.e., no need for satin or heavily beaded dresses - save those for late afternoon and evening) instead chiffon, crepe, or other daytime fabric like cotton, or some sort of blend is the perfect thing to wear. We love floral dresses like this one for spring wedding guests, but certainly a solid color or other print is wonderful for daytime. Jumpsuits or skirts and pants with a dressy top are also great choices for daytime wedding attire if a dress isn't your personal style.
For men, a daytime suit (i.e. not a formal black tux), shirt, and tie is all you need. For really casual weddings, a suit without a tie, a blazer, and pants combination, or a shirt and pants without a tie, might be a viable option as well.
Accessories for a Floral Wedding Guest Outfit
Floral dresses like this are great because you can pick up on the colors within the print for the accessories. Here, I accented on the coral colors in the florals and echoed them with the earrings, bracelet, and clutch.
Let's talk about shoes! I recently purchased these Hailee Sandals I'm showing in this post. I'm going to wear this exact pair for a wedding and other things this spring. I am so impressed with the quality of these shoes! They are the perfect height, very comfortable but still leg-elongating, and have a nice non-skid sole, and cushiony footbed. All for under $40! They are great and versatile shoe, and the clock heel makes them great to wear outdoor venues.
